ANTS AND OTHER STRONG THINGS
A collective of independent artists based in Prague have come together to create a play based on a queer couple living in a futuristic high-surveillance state. The play is scripted, whilst also incorporating experimental elements of movement, sound and video. The production seeks to confront current questions surrounding reality and conspiracy, and disrupt belief systems that are heavily influenced by powerful forces within leadership and media. The play will appear at the Prague Fringe Festival in May 2024.
SYNOPSIS
The heart of the city is changing, and by the 2050s life looks very different. Over the span of many years Maya and Charlie navigate their relationship through the re-introduction of anti-queer laws. As the International Cyberspace Order makes it their mission to control the behaviour of the population through intense surveillance, together this couple will decide whether their core values align, and who they will protect when the stakes are high.
